Jersey Angels invests in companies across the continental United States, irrespective of geographic location.  However, opportunities in or near New Jersey will be given the most credence, especially those that require large sums of capital or require significant managerial assistance.  Although Jersey Angels does not focus on a particular industry, opportunities that best lend themselves to the expertise of our members are more likely to be considered.

            Opportunities must have potential for high-growth, strong leadership, and a sustainable competitive advantage.  Companies must have the ability to rapidly scale  into a market leader in their fields.  Furthermore, opportunities must possess:

• A compelling, well-articulated strategy for capturing significant market share
• Strong barriers to entry or imitation (proprietary technology, tacit knowledge, or legal barriers)
• Ambitious management with experience in the field—preferably with a formidable track record
• A plausible exit strategy that seeks to return 20x-30x the post-money valuation within five years
• A detailed financing plan that details how acquired funds will be used to increase company value
